In Loving Memory of Your Beloved Pet
Taz
I’m a caretaker to feral and stray cats. Over a period of 9 years doing so, I have brought into my home numerous sick cats, nurtured them back to health and domesticate them. They turn out to be loving companions. Being a caretaker to about 60 cats over this period of nine years, I have seen many cats pass on. Someone might think that I would be used to death. Well, you never get used to it! The love I had for them and the love they returned hurt each and every time one of them left me.
I recently had one to do so on March 26th, 2009. His name was Taz. He was about 3 years old. I was devastated when he died and I felt like someone put a knife right through my heart. I stayed next to him to the end. It is so hard to write this. He was so attached to me and me to him. He was my buddy! Taz was a beautiful black cat with a little bit of white on his stomach. He acted more like a little kid than a cat. He would lie on my lap and stare up at me. He was a talker! That was his way of communicating with me and communicate he did! I could also tell what he wanted by his body language, his eyes and how he held his tail and of course by his cat meows. I loved him so much! There has not been a day gone by that I haven’t thought about him.
This is in memory of Taz and the many other domesticated, stray or feral cats that have passed on. All they want is someone to love them!
