DID YOU KNOW THAT CATS?
1. Can taste the difference between salty, bitter and sour foods
but can't taste sweet items.
2. Smell their food before eating it. If it doesn't smell good to
them, they might not eat it!
3. Like keeping to a fixed schedule. Eating, playing and napping.
They would appreciate that their owners keep to the cat's schedule.
It is like they have a clock in their head. So, don't upset kitty
by a late meal!
4. Use their tail to keep their balance and to steer when jumping.
5. A female when ready to mate can mate with several males, if she
chooses to do so or given the opportunity. If this would happen,
kittens that could come from this would have different fathers but
from the same litter.
6. Homogenized milk is not good for your cat. Some cats can't
digest lactose in milk, therefore, results are diarrhea. Instead,
replace with lactose free pet milk.
7. Most calico or tortoiseshell cats are female. It is estimated
that only one in three thousand calicoes is male.
8. When small pieces of food or treats are placed on the floor
directly under a cat's nose, they can't see it.
9. When your cat stares at you for a long time, then slowly blinks
its eyes at you, it is sending you kisses and saying, I LOVE YOU!
If you want to send the message back to your kitty, repeat the
process.
10. Most cats don't like scented litter. Their sense of
smell is 1000 times stronger than that of a human. The perfumed
litter may smell good to us but can be overwhelming to them. So,
if kitty is not using the litter box, try changing the litter to an
unscented.
